8.6Multi step selections, GROSS
Powerfull selections are available. Any criteria may be used and combined with logical conditions. Up to 10 steps can be defined and saved as selection layout afterwards for later use. GROSS shows you all activities that are related with the netto selected quantity. This is working with the relationship float as well to get only critical (pusching) predecessors and moved successors.
8.6Metrapotential method is more powerfull than CPM
The MPM (Metra Potential Method) is much more efficient than the CPM (Critical Path Method). You my define different types of relationships between the same pair of activities. There are logical (Minimum), maximum (Just in Time) and capacitive relationships. The lags may be positive or negative or % and follow - if wanted - a special defined calendar. The network calculation becomes more realistic, because of correct drying periods and delivery times. The critical predecessor is visible by its relationship float of 0 shown with a double arrow in the diagram. All old capacitive relationships may be deleted if replanning after update is required without damaging the logical sequence of work! There is a user defined preset to mark all inserted relationship with a personal code (for groupwise working). Another special: The rel-type "Approach" with % overlapping makes activities parallel independant from their durations.
8.6Data plausibilities
The scheduler is defining the activity codes. Double definitions are not accepted by the system. Even on importing data this will be mentioned and rejected. The code will remain the same for the total project's duration. Import/Export of data will be very safe by these strict regulations. Activities with wrong code (not according the structure) will always be placed on top for further modification.
8.6Graphical WBS-Designer
New projects can simply be defined with the interactive Work Breakdown Structure. With the mouse you create and move activities in the structural diagram and the code will follow automatically or your preset definition. The WBS may also be used to create missing mainactivity levels lateron.
8.6Aggregation by Project- and Org-structure
Mainactivities in ACOS are aggregating the informations of times and resources. You can define a structure by the workflow (phases and activities) and by the object structure with the same data. Resources are planned in detail on the activity level and are summarized on the mainactivity level as cost groups.
8.6Optimized barchart for One Page Printouts
Aggregating barcharts is a special feature of the ACOS Client. This reduces the space on printouts up to 80%. Using mainactivities by the object structure gives the best result, because the work is placed horicontal by a phase model (with different colours). Even in this view you have interaction on the data. Own OLE-Pictures may be placed around or in the chart. 3 time scales are foreseen. Special periods may be marked with hatches and text.
8.6Variable comparison calculation
Any time the deviation report can be calculated from a stored project variation. Two rows, each with early and late position, show the delay or acceleration per each node in detail (Traffic Light Report). The summary curve of the planned/actual-bargraph can be placed below.
8.6Interruptions of work
Up to 10 interruptions per each bar are available. Specially for claims this feature is very effective, because the information is independant defined for planned and actual.
